The X Team organization had its inaugural season in the summer of 2003. The X Team was formed by Felipe Suarez, who remains as one of the most recognized pitching coaches in the southeast, and Norberto Lopez who is an assistant coach at the University of Miami. Together that first summer, the both coached the current head of the youth organization, brandon Cooney. The original team produced 4 mlb players, and 8 others who went on to have professional careers including coach Cooney who played with the Baltimore Orioles Organization.

Cooney and Suarez wanted to bring back a way of travel baseball, With the goal to develop players and with a passion to instruct by the coaching staff. it did not take long for the X Team to experience success. the X Team’s true success came in the form of all the relationships that were established. These relationships have built a tremendous network throughout the game of baseball at all levels helping over 100 players play at the next level, whether collegiately, or in professional baseball.
The youth program was established in 2020 and is headed by Brandon Cooney. There were 2 teams originally during the 2020 season in the 8u and 9u divisions, and that has grown to 9u-13u. The youth teams follow the same mentality of development, accountability, and instruction that the program was founded on. The youth teams have all had tremendous success and they are continuing to strengthen the organization. Surrounded by ex Professionals, Collegiate players, and a current Triple A Manager, the youth teams are going to continue to be strong for years to come.
